What is a Snow Globe?
A Snow globe is described as a transparent sphere, traditionally made of glass. The sphere then contains a miniature scene, in this case with a cute Christmas figure. Once filled with clear liquid and small particles, simply shake the Snow Globe and the particles drift through the liquid thus giving the appearance of snow.
A Short History of the Snow Globe
Invented in Vienna at the end of the 19th Century by Erwin Perzy. He was experimenting using globes full of water and reflective particles to create a bright light sauce. However, he was amazed how the effect reminded him of snow, so he created the first diorama Snow Globe.
