A little history…

Designed by A. V. Roe and first flown on 30th August 1952. The Vulcan was introduced to service in September 1956, a full 4 years after its first flight. This craft is a delta wing, high altitude, strategic bomber. However it is best known for its defensive role during the Cold War as “the backbone of the United Kingdom’s airborne nuclear deterrent”.

Following its impressive service history, the Vulcan was retired in 1984. However this majestic craft is since operational for Military Air Shows and similar events. Taking to the sky once again to demonstrate the sheer brilliance of British Aviation and design throughout the years. Furthermore, the Vulcan makes frequent trips to Farnborough airport and appears frequently at the bi-annual Air Show. After all, it is the home of British Aviation.
