Christmas Puddings (or Plum Pudding) originated in the 14th Centuary. At this time they were more like a porridge, consisting of Mutton and beef mixed with rasins, currants, wines and spices. By the end of the 16th Centuart this had evolved into something closer to the plum Pudding we know today. Adding eggs, breadcrumbs and more dried fruit gave the pudding a more cakey texture.

By Victorian times Christmas Puddings were a Yule staple. In poorer families these were shaped like a ball, and this gives the traditional shape that these Christmas Pudding Nail Files are based on! The addition of a sprig of holly on the top was believed to bring luck and health and is frequently copied today!

These cute Christmas Pudding Nail Files encompass the traditional Victorian look, including the srpig of holly on the top!
