How to use a Scarf as a Face Mask

Face Masks are the word on everyone’s lips at the moment. Although there are a wide range out there, sometimes finding just the one to match your outfit can be a challenge. What if you could make one simply using a scarf and a couple of hair bobbles? Then you could be assured of always looking your best!

Making a Face Mask from a scarf couldn’t be simpler.

Simple ScarfMask

First lay the scarf out on a clean flat surface

(make sure the pattern is on the underside of the fabric)

Fold the scarf lengthways. Ensure that width of the folded scarf is wide enough to cover your mouth and nose

Then thread your hair bobbles onto the scarf. Once in place it should look a bit like a sweetie.

Take hold of the bobbles and loop them over your ears. This will help to keep your Scarf Mask in place.

Pull the scarf tight and wrap around your neck

Ensure that the ScarfMask fully covers your nose and mouth and is tight under your chin

Do this by gently pulling on each side of the scarf, pulling it through the bobble

And there you have it, a Simple Scarf Mask – once on, you will be ready for anything. We have a wide range of attractive scarfs so you could have a limitless choice of looks!

More Advanced ScarfMask

If you would like additional protection, then you can fold one of our PM2.5 Filters within the fabric.

To make the mask fit better cross your nose, then you can use a pipe cleaner. Simply insert this into the top edge of one of the folds. Then the Scarf Mask can be moulded around the nose.

If your scarf is too short to hang over your shoulders, then you can tie it at the back. Alternatively you can use an additional hair bobble wrapped around the end of the scarf, like this

And pull tight like this
