WoodWick Candles

Woodwick

I often get asked questions about our extremely popular WoodWick Candle range. So I thought that I would use this blog to discuss some of the best candles there are on the market.

So, first of all, why buy a WoodWick candle?

Woodwick CandleThese candles are made from a blend of high quality Soy Wax and premium fragrances. Soy wax is used as a natural alternative to Paraffin Wax, this ensures a clean burn so the candle emits very little smoke, just long lasting fragrance.

Then there is the sheer number of fragrances and colours available. No matter  your decor or aroma preference you are sure to find your new favourite!

The real treat, though, is the wooden wick which crackles as it burns, creating a multi sensory atmosphere.

All of this from a candle! I know, I can’t believe it either!

Woodwick Candles – Sizes Available

WoodWick Candles came in a variety of sizes, so something for everyone.

I have put together a brief description of each of the sizes of candles, to give you a rough guide and help you choose the one that is best for you.

Petite Candles – Burn Time approximately 8 hours

Petite Candles

This is the smallest of the candles, but that doesn’t mean it should be overlooked. It still has the wooden PlusWick and is made from the same high quality ingredients but in a size that is ideal for Candlescaping. This term is used when multi candles are combined to create a relaxing or romantic ambience. The candles can be the same fragrance, or a combination of different ones, making the scent possibilities endless.

The Petite candles are stackable for easy storage.

Mini Candles – Burn Time Approximately 20 hours

Mini Jar Candles

Mini Woodwick Candles have the distinctive hourglass design that has become synonymous with this brand. With a beautiful wooden lid which can be used as a stand for the candle, it’s almost too beautiful to use. Until you do, and then you realise that this small candle really packs a punch!

Medium Candles – Burn Time Approximately 60 hours

Medium Jar Candles

Medium Woodwick Candles come in all the scents. they are also the first size that the fantastic Trilogy range comes in.

Trilogy Mobile

The Trilogy candles layer 3 different candle scents that create a unique experience as they melt together. These special candles burn beautifully. As the layers melt the fragrance subtly changes combining the scents to create new bouquets to tantalise the senses.

Aura Candles

Also available in the Medium size are the special edition Aura candles. These use a cut glass hourglass shaped vessel, and are scented with the finest fragrances. An ideal gift for someone very special

Large Candles – Burn Time Approximately 130 hours

If you are looking for value for money then this is the candle for you. The lengthy burn time will ensure that you can enjoy your favourite scent for longer.

Ellipse

Hearthwick Candles – Burn Time Approximately 50 hours

Are you looking for something a bit different? The Ellipse shape of this Woodwick candle would grace any table. This candle has a Hearthwick, still wooden, however instead of being a plus shape, this is long. The Hearthwick gives more feeling of an open fire, without the mess, smoke and ash!

How to Care For A WoodWick Candle

When you get it home, take off the lid, with all the candles except the Petite, this can be used as a stand for the candle.

Light the wick, with the Hearthwick, just light one side and allow the flame to carry across the wick.

Burn the candle until the wax has melted across the whole surface of the candle. If you do not do this then you run the risk of the candle tunnelling. this means that only the wax in the middle of the candle will be used, dramatically reducing the burn time and spoiling the look of your candle.

WoodWick themselves recommend burning the candles for 3-4 hours at a time to get the maximum benefit from these luxury candles.

With a normal candle, you need to trim the wick to keep an even burn, but how do you do this when the wick is made of wood.

Simple, make sure that the candle is completely cold, and then just gently break off the blackened section of the wick . I normally do this with the candle held over the bin, so the detriment does not fall back into the candle as this will spoil the look of the wax. The wick should be left approximately 2cm above the wax.

Following these simple rules will ensure that you get the best out of your Woodwick candles.

Safety Advice

Before I finish, I need to give you some safety guidelines to ensure your use of these candles is not marred by any accidents.

  • Never leave your candle burning unattended
  • Keep your candle out of reach of any children or pets
  • Keep your burning candle away form anything flammable
  • Always put your candle on a heat resistant surface when burning.
  • Extinguish your candle with care to ensure the hot wax does not splatter
  • Do not allow any foreign objects to drop into the hot wax
